POSITION SUMMARY:
The Employee Benefits Account Executive is responsible for delivering high-quality and efficient service to both internal and external clients through day-to-day account management of an assigned group of accounts. Builds and solidifies relationships with existing clients by providing exceptional ongoing service. In partnership with the Production Team, takes a leadership role in the renewal process, ensuring that the best possible solution is delivered to the client in a high-quality & timely manner:
JOB DUTIES:
- Work collaboratively and cooperatively with others, with a commitment to a workplace of dignity and respect, in compliance with equal employment opportunity standards and regulations.
- Accept coaching in compliance with the Agency's policies and procedures.
- Work with producers on renewals and coordinate internal functions so that producer receives all necessary renewal information and proposals on a timely basis.
- Work with a marketing specialist to prepare requests for proposals (RFP).
- Follow up on RFP with marketing specialists and/or carriers to make sure that proposals are received on a timely basis.
- Work with a marketing specialist to review for accuracy the presentation spreadsheets comparing carrier proposals and assemble formal proposals to the client.
- Work with CSM and producer to research and compare value-added coverages and services (COBRA, FSA, etc.)
- Field telephone inquiries as needed from both clients and their employees about their current coverage and insurance contracts, as well as general questions about insurance or benefits and regulations pertaining to insurance and benefits such as COBRA, HIPAA, and S125.
- Assist in the resolution of claims issues with carriers.
- Make routine service calls to the client's workplace as needed within their team structure to address service issues and proactively demonstrate our high level of commitment to superior service.
- Work with producers to determine clients’ needs at renewal and then coordinate the data collection and proposal preparation of appropriate proposals from insurance carriers to meet those needs within a specified timeline.
- Actively manage the retention of major accounts and maximizing income from these accounts.
- Renew insurance contracts for assigned non-VIP tier accounts without producer assistance.
- Provide ongoing, in-person consultations with assigned clients to maximize our retention of accounts. This may entail coordinating service issues with the account service manager assigned to the account and, if needed, assisting personally with the resolution of complex service and billing issues that impact the group decision-makers.
- Follow established departmental and agency processes and procedures, tracking activities, client history, and communication with client and documenting them in agency system.
- Plan annual enrollments for clients including design of enrollment and educational materials to educate employees on their benefits and how to use them properly.
- Coordinate and supervise the enrollment activities of all participating vendors and enroll employees in voluntary products that are not funded by the employer.
- Maximize income from each account by conducting both group and individual meetings with employees to help persuade them to purchase products that are appropriate for their financial situation.
- Assist producer and often times lead the marketing effort of employee benefits to the carriers at renewal including gathering of the necessary data from the client, analysis of carrier proposals for suitability to the client's needs and negotiation of final rates and benefits with carriers and other vendors as appropriate.
- Coordinate the preparation of renewal presentation package with internal staff and assist producer with the presentations of the renewal to major clients.
- Coordinate client enrollments and provide other services as required so that producer can maximize time for new business production.
- Assist with delivering Compliance Advantage programs for clients as needed, including reviewing compliance audits with the clients and then assisting them address areas of concern which may also include training of HR personnel and/or supervisor on issues such as FMLA or prevention of sexual harassment.
- Actively pursue referral opportunities to other departments.
- Monitor personal continuing education requirements to ensure compliance with licensing requirements. Attend classes as necessary.
- Be familiar with and follow Agency guidelines, policies and procedures.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

- Florida 2-15 Life & Health License Required
- Bachelor’s degree, and 5 to 7 years relevant agency experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of Applied "EPIC" Agency Management System, preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent communication skills
